Itinerary
Your first moments in Peru
Arrive in Lima, where our team welcomes you and accompanies you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to settle in and rest after your flight. Depending on your arrival time, take a first stroll through the neighbourhood or enjoy a quiet evening at your hotel.
Lima, stories & flavours
With your guide, explore Lima's historic centre, where squares, carved balconies and grand façades trace the capital's past. Continue to the Larco Museum, whose remarkable collections reveal the artistry and beliefs of ancient Peruvian cultures. A welcome lunch offers a first taste of the country's celebrated cuisine, before the afternoon is yours at leisure.
Towards the Pacific coast
Leave Lima and travel south to Paracas, as the city gives way to long stretches of desert and coastline. Arrive at your hotel with the afternoon free to enjoy the sea air, relax by the water or take a quiet walk along the shore.
Paracas, where desert meets ocean
Set out by boat towards the Ballestas Islands, passing the mysterious Candelabra geoglyph etched into the hillside. Around the islands, watch seabirds and sea lions in their coastal habitat as your guide shares insights into this rich marine environment.
Later, explore the Paracas National Reserve, where desert cliffs, open sands and the Pacific create striking contrasts. Pause at viewpoints overlooking Playa Roja and the surrounding coastline before returning to your hotel.
A quiet morning by the sea
Enjoy breakfast and an unhurried morning at your hotel, taking in the coastal setting before your private journey back to Lima. On arrival, settle into your hotel with the evening at leisure.
Into the Sacred Valley
Fly to Cusco, where your guide welcomes you for the journey into the Sacred Valley. Depending on your flight schedule, pause at Awanakancha to meet llamas, alpacas and vicuñas and see how their fibres become traditional textiles, then browse the colourful market at Pisac. Continue to your hotel, surrounded by mountains and valley landscapes, with the rest of the day to rest and adjust to the altitude.
Maras, Moray & the welcome of Misminay
Explore the circular terraces of Moray and the salt pans of Maras, two landscapes shaped by generations of knowledge and work. Continue to Misminay, where community hosts welcome you into their traditions and daily life. Conversation and shared activities offer a personal view of the valley, followed by lunch prepared with local ingredients, before you return to your hotel.
Ollantaytambo & the journey towards Machu Picchu
With your guide, explore Ollantaytambo's Inca terraces and stonework, then walk through streets where ancient town planning remains part of everyday life. At the scheduled time, board your train to Machu Picchu Pueblo. The railway follows the Urubamba between steep mountains as the landscape grows greener and more enclosed. On arrival, our team accompanies you to your hotel, with the evening free to rest ahead of tomorrow's visit.
Machu Picchu, among mountains & forest
Take the bus up to Machu Picchu for a guided exploration of its architecture, terraces and relationship with the surrounding peaks. Your guide shares the stories and details that bring this extraordinary place into focus, with time to take in the setting along your assigned circuit. Afterwards, return to Machu Picchu Pueblo and board your train to Ollantaytambo, where private transport awaits for the onward journey to Cusco.
Cusco, history & everyday life
Discover Cusco's layered heritage with your guide. Explore the Cathedral, Qorikancha and the monumental stonework of Sacsayhuamán, each holding a different chapter of the city's past. Continue into San Blas, where narrow streets, small squares and artisan workshops reveal another side of the city. The afternoon leaves time to linger, return to a favourite corner or enjoy your hotel.
Cusco, at your own pace
Enjoy a day to follow your own interests in Cusco. Browse artisan shops, linger over lunch or simply take in the atmosphere of the city's streets and squares. For those wishing to explore further, an additional cultural, culinary or walking experience can be arranged around your preferences.
From the Andes to the Amazon
Fly to Puerto Maldonado, where the lodge team welcomes you for the journey into Tambopata. Continue by road and river to your lodge, watching the landscape change as you enter the rainforest. After settling in, begin your introduction to the forest with a guided activity suited to your arrival time. As evening falls, the sounds of the Amazon set a new rhythm for the days ahead.
Along the forest paths
Explore the rainforest with a naturalist guide, discovering the relationships between its trees, plants, insects and wildlife. Walking slowly leaves room to notice the smaller details: a movement in the canopy, an unfamiliar call or the intricate forms of forest vegetation. Between outings, return to the lodge for meals and rest, before continuing to explore through the lodge's scheduled excursions.
Waterways & wildlife
See Tambopata from another perspective through the excursions offered by your lodge. Depending on its location and programme, the day may lead you along forest trails, rivers or oxbow lakes, each revealing a different side of Amazonian life. Your guide helps you observe and understand your surroundings, letting the day's discoveries unfold at the forest's own rhythm.
Deeper into the rainforest
A fourth night in the Amazon gives you time to deepen your experience of the forest. Join further guided activities, return to its changing sounds and colours, and enjoy quiet moments at the lodge. This extra day leaves space for both discovery and rest, and a more settled sense of connection to the place.
From the rainforest to Lima
Leave the lodge and return to Puerto Maldonado for your flight to Lima, where our team welcomes you and accompanies you to your hotel. Enjoy a relaxed evening in the capital after your time in the forest.
A final taste of Lima
Enjoy a full day at leisure in Lima. Spend time by the coast, explore the city's neighbourhoods or choose a restaurant for a memorable final meal. For a more guided discovery, an additional culinary or cultural experience can be arranged around your interests.
A thoughtful farewell
Enjoy breakfast and time at leisure according to your flight schedule. At the appropriate time, your private transfer takes you to the airport, bringing your journey from Peru's coast to its rainforest to a close.
